The Norwegian Refugee Council has distributed kitchen kits, temporary shelter, household items, and hygiene kits to 7,000 people affected by clashes in eastern Afghanistan. Cash assistance was also provided to 2,000 others, bringing the total number of individuals reached to at least 9,500.
The organization issued a statement on 23 Jawza detailing the distributions. It expressed thanks for Norway's ongoing support and stressed the need for continued assistance in the border regions.
The Norwegian Refugee Council had previously announced on 14 Hamal that thousands of families were displaced due to the clashes and called for urgent aid to those living in inadequate conditions.
The Taliban announced that more than 27,000 families have been displaced in nine provinces due to attacks from Pakistan. The recent aid aims to address immediate needs among the affected population.
