
More than 300 Afghan migrants detained in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
PESHAWAR, Pakistan (Afghan Verified) -- Pakistani police detained 341 undocumented Afghan migrants in various areas of Swabi district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during an operation on Sunday.
The detentions took place in Topi, Razza, Chota Lahore and the center of Swabi district, according to reports cited by Pajhwok Afghan News. Local officials stated the operations will continue until all undocumented residents return to Afghanistan in a peaceful and honorable manner.
Officials urged Afghan migrants to return voluntarily to their country and granted them time to close their businesses after Eid al-Fitr. Nearly 30,000 Afghan migrants are currently residing in various parts of Swabi district, reports added.
The operation reflects ongoing efforts by Pakistani authorities to address undocumented migration in the region.
