Labor Inspection Directorate Examines 470 Emirate and Non-Emirate Offices in Past Year
KABUL — The Directorate of Labor Inspection and Guidance of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs inspected 470 offices affiliated with the Emirate and non-Emirate entities across Afghanistan over the past year.
Samiullah Ebrahimi, spokesperson for the ministry, stated that the inspections covered contracts, working conditions, salaries, safety standards, and other related issues. The directorate aimed to improve transparency and accountability in labor practices while preventing forced labor.
During this period, the directorate received 50 complaints and petitions from workers. Of these, 45 were addressed, resulting in the restoration of rights for 292 employees, Ebrahimi said.
Inspectors also identified thousands of domestic and foreign employees working without proper permits. These individuals were referred to the Human Resources Directorate for further action.
The ministry's efforts underscore ongoing initiatives to regulate labor conditions nationwide, ensuring compliance with standards in both government-affiliated and private sector offices.
