Kremlin Spokesman: Russia Ready to Accept Iran's Enriched Uranium in Potential US Deal
MOSCOW (Afghan Verified) — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday that Russia is prepared to accept enriched uranium from Iran as part of a potential future agreement with the United States.
Peskov made the remarks in an interview with Agence France-Presse. He noted that the idea had been previously proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin during discussions with Washington and regional actors, though no practical steps have been implemented.
Peskov also criticized threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to impose a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, warning that such actions could destabilize global markets and trade.
The comments come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts surrounding Iran's nuclear program. U.S. Vice President JD Vance said Washington seeks to halt Iran's uranium enrichment and place its nuclear materials under strict international or U.S. control.
Russia's offer reflects continued involvement in nuclear diplomacy, building on Putin's earlier suggestions. Peskov's statements highlight tensions between Moscow and Washington over Iran's nuclear activities and regional security.
