Khost Officials Begin Distributing Cash and Tents to 1,400 Displaced Families
KHOST, Afghanistan — Officials in Khost province, in cooperation with international organizations, have begun distributing cash assistance and tents to 1,400 families displaced by recent Pakistani military shelling and mortar fire along the Durand Line.
Mustagfar Garbaz, spokesman for the Khost provincial administration, confirmed the details of the aid distribution. He stated that each of the affected families is receiving 5,800 Afghanis along with tents to meet their immediate shelter needs.
Garbaz added that the distribution process will continue in the coming days. Officials have also committed to addressing other basic requirements of the displaced families, including further support beyond the initial cash and tents.
The families were forced from their homes due to the cross-border shelling from Pakistan, which targeted areas near the Durand Line border. This aid effort aims to provide relief to those who have taken shelter in Khost province after fleeing the violence.
