Kazakhstan Sends Medical Team to Afghanistan for Specialist Surgeries

Kazakhstan has sent a team of medical specialists to Afghanistan to assist with the treatment of patients suffering from severe injuries and congenital disorders. The team comprises senior professionals specializing in orthopedics, cardiology, pediatrics, surgery, and other fields. These experts are scheduled to conduct examinations for as many as 40 patients each day. In addition, they intend to carry out between three and four complex reconstructive surgeries daily, with a particular emphasis on complications arising from injuries and musculoskeletal conditions present from birth.

The current initiative marks the second significant medical mission undertaken by Kazakhstan in Afghanistan. It follows the support extended in the aftermath of earthquakes that struck the country at the end of the previous year. Concurrent with the deployment of the medical personnel, Kazakhstan has also delivered 318.8 tons of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan. This combined effort of personnel and supplies is intended to bolster the capacity of local medical facilities.

The specialists will be based in hospitals across Afghanistan where they can apply their expertise directly to patient care. Daily operations will include both outpatient consultations and inpatient surgical interventions. The fields represented in the team allow for a multidisciplinary approach to the health issues being addressed.
