Officials in Kapisa province announced that 45,691 metric tons of wheat were collected this year in solar year 1405. This amount is two percent higher than the harvest from the year before. The wheat came from cultivation on 12,353 hectares of irrigated land and an additional 300 hectares of rain-fed land. Overall, this production meets about forty percent of the province's wheat needs.

The head of agricultural affairs, Khwaja Mohammad Shafiq Siddiqui, explained the factors that led to the increase in output. Improved seeds played a significant role in boosting the harvest. Chemical fertilizers helped improve soil productivity. Pest control efforts protected the crops from damage. Farmer training programs also contributed by teaching better agricultural techniques.

These combined efforts resulted in the higher yield observed this year. The announcement comes as part of ongoing efforts to improve food security in the province. The data reflects careful monitoring of agricultural activities throughout the growing season. Farmers benefited from the various support mechanisms provided by the authorities.

Looking to the future, the Directorate of Agriculture has made plans for continued support. They will distribute improved seeds and fertilizers to one thousand farmers in two districts of Kapisa next year. This initiative is expected to further strengthen local farming capabilities and increase production levels.
