Islamic Emirate Spokesperson Mujahid: Afghanistan Did Not Initiate War, Scholars' Proposal Directed at Pakistan
Islamic Emirate spokesperson Mullah Zabiullah Mujahid stated that Afghanistan did not initiate the war and that a proposal by Afghan and Pakistani scholars is largely directed at Pakistan's military regime in Islamabad.
Mujahid emphasized that Islamic Emirate forces have maintained a defensive stance since the beginning of the war, defending Afghan soil. He said defending the country's territorial integrity is the responsibility of all and that Afghan forces have fulfilled this duty.
These statements come amid prior calls by a number of Afghan and Pakistani scholars for a permanent ceasefire between Kabul and Islamabad to reduce tensions.
