Islamic Emirate Distributes Residential Plots to Over 1,100 Returnee Families

The Islamic Emirate has distributed 1,185 residential land plots to returnee families across six provinces. Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, announced the distribution as part of efforts to facilitate the resettlement of returning refugees.

The land was allocated to families in the provinces of Nangarhar, Laghman, Zabul, Farah, Sar-e Pol, and Kunduz. The process was managed by the Committee for the Permanent Settlement of Refugees and Land Distribution, which oversees the allocation of residential plots to those returning to Afghanistan.

While sources agree on the number of plots distributed in the most recent round, they provide differing figures for the cumulative total of land distributed to date. Hurriyat reports that 20,097 families have received land, noting that the volume of refugee returns has increased in conjunction with the change in season. In contrast, RTA reports that the total number of plots distributed nationwide is 20,009.
