India Donates Td Vaccines to Afghanistan
India has donated 131 cartons of Td vaccines to Afghanistan's public health authorities to support national immunization programs.
Taliban public health authorities announced the receipt of the vaccines, which protect against diphtheria and tetanus. Each vial contains 10 doses, and each carton holds 768 doses for use in preventive vaccination campaigns.
Officials stated that the vaccines will strengthen preventive healthcare services and expand immunization coverage in vulnerable communities nationwide.
India recently supplied approximately 9.5 tons of anti-cancer medicines to Afghanistan as part of efforts to provide additional humanitarian health assistance.
Afghanistan's healthcare system continues to rely heavily on international aid amid economic difficulties and limited access to essential medical supplies.
This donation comes amid a Taliban ban on importing medicines from Pakistan, which has raised concerns over potential supply shortages and further strained trade relations between the two sides.
Health experts warn that vaccination programs remain critical to preventing outbreaks, as many communities still face gaps in basic healthcare access.
