Houthis Warn of Battlefield Intervention in Support of Iran, Launch Missile at Israel

Yemen's Ansar Allah forces, also known as the Houthis, have warned that they will enter the battlefield in support of Iran should the current war prolong or expand.

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea announced that the group would conduct operations in the Red Sea against countries seeking to weaken Iran and supporting the United States and Israel, according to Hurriyat. Khaama Press reported that Houthi leaders stated they were ready to intervene directly if more countries join the conflict.

On March 28, the Houthis launched a ballistic missile from Yemen targeting Israel. Hurriyat reported that the missile struck a military center in southern Israel. Israel's military confirmed the launch toward Israeli territory, describing it as the first such attack since the start of the month-long U.S.-Israeli war against Iran, per Khaama Press.

The Houthis also condemned recent U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran as unjust aggression. The statements and missile launch have raised concerns about the potential opening of a new southern front and broader regional escalation, including disruptions to global trade through the Red Sea.
