German federal prosecutors have demanded life imprisonment without parole for Afghan refugee Farhad Noori, who faces charges over a vehicle-ramming attack in central Munich.
The attack on 25 Dalw 1403 killed a 37-year-old woman and her two-year-old daughter and injured 44 other people. Prosecutors described the incident as a politically and religiously motivated attack, stating that Noori believed the act fulfilled "God's will" in response to Western actions in Gaza and Afghanistan.
The suspect is charged with two counts of murder, 22 counts of attempted murder and 22 counts of bodily harm. Authorities said Noori entered Germany in 2016 and developed radical views shortly before the attack after exposure to extremist Afghan clerics on social media.
The Munich Higher Regional Court is scheduled to deliver its verdict on 15 Asad 1405.
