Fuel, liquefied gas, sugar and gold prices have declined in Kabul amid an almost eight percent drop in global crude oil prices following a memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington. Flour and cooking oil prices have increased during the same period.
Petrol in the capital decreased from 67 afghanis to 66 afghanis per litre. This represents a drop of 1.49 percent. Diesel prices fell from 66 afghanis to 65 afghanis per litre, marking a 1.52 percent decrease. Liquefied gas prices went down from 59 afghanis to 56 afghanis per kilogram.
The price of a 49-kilogram sack of Indian sugar dropped from 3,000 afghanis to 2,600 afghanis. However, the price of a 49-kilogram sack of Kazakh flour rose from 1,500 afghanis to 1,550 afghanis at the wholesale level and to 1,600 afghanis at retail. A 16-litre bottle of Malaysian cooking oil increased from 1,800 afghanis to 1,850 afghanis wholesale and 1,900 afghanis at retail.
One gram of Arabian gold decreased from 7,120 afghanis to 7,090 afghanis. One gram of Russian gold fell from 5,675 afghanis to 5,660 afghanis.
The exchange rate saw the US dollar trading at 64.50 afghanis. One thousand Pakistani rupees were valued at 225 afghanis. Prices for rice and tea stayed unchanged.
