A coordination and consultation meeting of the Free Journalists Union of Afghanistan took place in Mazar-i-Sharif, Balkh province, attended by local officials and journalists.

The session focused on supporting journalists, addressing media challenges and enhancing professional capacities. Hojatullah Mojaddedi, president of the Free Journalists Union of Afghanistan, stated: "How can we maintain the current situation so that every action and report of ours is in the interest of the people, the country, and the national interests? We must join hands in this path."

Journalists welcomed the meeting and called for increased support across various sectors. Abdul Latif Sahak, head of the Journalists' Safety Committee in the North Zone, said: "Before these media problems become public and published from outside, I hope that with meetings held between media, journalists, and government officials, God willing, we can prevent them from occurring."

Azizullah Wahdat, a journalist, remarked: "The more coordination there is between journalists and government officials, the more journalists' problems will decrease."

Local officials from Balkh province also expressed support for the initiative and stressed the importance of backing journalists and professional information dissemination. Mahmoudullah Zarar, head of Information and Culture for Balkh province, said: "Media must play a role that neutralizes the enemy's plans and programs. We and you are well aware that the enemy is trying to create distance between the officials of the Islamic Emirate and also between the Islamic Emirate and the people."

Similar meetings have previously been held in other provinces, with emphasis placed on resolving journalists' issues.
