Four Killed in Iranian Army Helicopter Crash on Isfahan Market
Four people, including the pilot, co-pilot and two market vendors, died when an Iranian army helicopter crashed into a fruit and vegetable market in Dorche, Isfahan.
According to IRNA, the helicopter suffered a technical failure while flying over the market on Tuesday morning, resulting in the crash. Eyewitnesses and local reports said the aircraft hit the market directly, causing casualties among vendors and sparking fires that emergency responders quickly extinguished.
The CEO of Khomeini Shahr Fire Department confirmed firefighters were dispatched immediately to put out the flames and secure the area to prevent additional injuries.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, gathering evidence to identify the precise cause of the technical failure and review safety protocols for military flights.
The crash comes after a similar incident last week in Hamedan, where an Iranian Air Force plane crashed, killing one pilot.
Iranian media reported that families of the victims are in mourning, and local authorities have offered condolences while pledging thorough investigations.
