EU's 20th Sanctions Package Against Russia Delayed for Months, Kallas Says

BRUSSELS (Afghan Verified) -- European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas stated that the adoption of the bloc's 20th sanctions package against Russia has been delayed for months, with no immediate resolution in sight.

Russian news agency TASS reported that EU foreign ministers made no progress on the sanctions during their meeting in Brussels on March 16.

Kallas also noted that a planned €90 billion loan to Ukraine has faced similar delays due to internal disagreements among EU member states.

The EU had initially aimed to approve the sanctions package by February 24, the anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. However, disagreements over the scope of economic measures and energy dependencies have slowed the process.
