Congressman Robert Garcia Accuses US Justice Department of Withholding Epstein Documents on Trump

Rep. Robert Garcia stated that the US Justice Department withheld more than 50 pages of documents related to sexual allegations against former President Donald Trump from over three million Epstein files, according to a Reuters report cited by Hasht-e Subh.

Garcia emphasized that the documents indicate the FBI conducted four interviews with a woman making the allegations, but only the first interview -- which lacks details on Trump -- was released. In a letter to the Justice Department, Garcia wrote that the withholding raises "real concerns about White House cover-up."

The Justice Department responded that it is reviewing whether the remaining documents were improperly redacted and will release them if necessary. It added that some documents were withheld to protect Epstein victims' identities or avoid jeopardizing ongoing investigations.

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said Trump "has been completely cleared in every matter related to Epstein." Trump has previously denied the allegations, stating he never flew on Epstein's plane and that referential notes about him are fake.
