China Welcomes Pakistan's Mediation in US-Iran Talks

China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi told Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar that Beijing welcomes Islamabad's mediation efforts between the United States and Iran.

China's foreign ministry issued a statement on Saturday emphasizing shared goals with Pakistan to halt the conflict, revive negotiations, protect civilians and secure shipping routes. Both countries agreed to coordinate on these objectives amid efforts to prevent wider regional escalation.

Wang Yi urged renewed talks between the US and Iran and a peaceful end to the conflict. China and Pakistan maintain a neutral stance while supporting diplomatic efforts.

Pakistan is positioning itself as a mediator, passing messages between the US and Iran, though Iran denies direct talks. China has recently urged Iran to begin talks and previously helped ease tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
