Richard Lindsay, Britain's special representative for Afghanistan, congratulated Rashid Khan, captain of Afghanistan's national cricket team, on achieving the world record of 700 wickets in T20 internationals.

Lindsay posted on X that Afghanistan and Britain have secured strong victories so far in the T20 World Cup and extended best wishes to both countries and New Zealand for their upcoming matches.

Zalmay Khalilzad, former US special representative for peace in Afghanistan, also congratulated Khan on the milestone.

Khan reached the 700-wicket mark during Afghanistan's match against the United Arab Emirates in the T20 World Cup. Afghanistan defeated the UAE in that game.

The 700th wicket was a rare "hit wicket," where the batter unintentionally dislodged the stumps themselves, leading to dismissal.
