Border Minister Noori Praises Afghan Unity Against Pakistan Attacks
JALALABAD, Afghanistan (Afghan Verified) -- Mullah Noorullah Noori, minister of borders, tribes and tribal affairs, praised the unity and support of Afghans during recent attacks by Pakistan at a meeting Wednesday in Nangarhar province.
Noori met with ulema, tribal elders, youth, provincial officials, scholars and university professors. He thanked the people for their support and described all Afghans as mujahideen who have historically defeated great empires through jihad and struggle, achieving independence through Afghan faith and honor.
Noori stated that the people of eastern and western Afghanistan serve as the army of the Islamic Emirate, having joined mujahideen in jihad to overcome enemies.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to defend Afghanistan's Islamic system and sovereignty against any aggression from Pakistan.
Afghanistan International reported that the Taliban asserts widespread public backing during the clashes, though it noted reports of forced gatherings, mobilization efforts highlighted by the International Crisis Group, a split in public opinion among observers and accusations from Taliban opponents that the group enables sovereignty violations by aiding foreign militants.
