Axios reported that the second round of negotiations between Iran and the United States aimed at reaching a nuclear agreement will take place in Switzerland.

Citing U.S. diplomats, the outlet stated on Saturday, February 14, that the talks seek to secure an agreement to avert war. The U.S. negotiating team includes Steve Witkoff, Trump's special representative for the Middle East, and Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law.

Trump has threatened to attack Iran if no deal is reached. Meanwhile, he has ordered the deployment of a second U.S. aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East.

Oman's Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi, who is mediating between the parties, is expected to attend. The minister also delivered a document containing a U.S. message to Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.

The first round of U.S.-Iran talks was held indirectly in Oman.
