Afghanistan's national Buzkashi team finished third at the World Kokpar competitions held in Kazakhstan.
In the third-place ranking match, the Afghan team defeated Russia 6-0. The tournament drew teams from Afghanistan, Russia, Hungary, Mongolia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China and Tajikistan.
Afghanistan delivered a strong performance in the group stage, posting decisive wins over Hungary 14-0, Mongolia 7-0 and Russia 5-0. These results advanced the team to the semifinals.
In the semifinals, Afghanistan lost to Uzbekistan 2-4, missing out on the final but securing bronze with the victory over Russia.
The achievement represents one of the historic successes for Afghanistan's national Buzkashi team in international competitions, highlighting the skill of the country's players on the global stage.
