Mawlawi Mutie al-Haq Khalis, head of Afghanistan's National Environmental Protection Agency, met with Sadin Aylidiz, chargé d'affaires and head of the Turkish Embassy mission in Kabul.

The two sides discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, the region and environmental issues, according to the National Environmental Protection Agency.

Khalis requested that Turkey facilitate participation by an Afghan delegation in the international COP-31 summit so that the country's environmental problems could be raised at the global level.

Aylidiz assured continued joint cooperation in the area of climate change and on Afghanistan's request for partnership with Turkish authorities.

He stated that climate change is a global issue from which Afghanistan has been more affected than other countries, while environmental problems have mainly been created by developed nations.
