Afghanistan Football Champions League ranks 40th among Asian leagues

Afghanistan International|

According to the latest ranking by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the Afghanistan Football Champions League has placed 40th among the 47 member countries of the organization. This position indicates that only seven Asian leagues rank lower than Afghanistan's club football.

The leagues of Saudi Arabia, Japan, and South Korea occupy the top three positions, respectively. These countries have made extensive investments in professional football and sports infrastructure.

Following them, the leagues of the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and Qatar hold fourth through sixth places.

At the bottom of the table, the leagues of Brunei Darussalam, Sri Lanka, Yemen, East Timor, Pakistan, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands rank below Afghanistan.

This ranking underscores the need for greater attention to developing infrastructure, increasing investment, and professionalizing club football in Afghanistan.
