Private sector representatives from Afghanistan and Uzbekistan met to review ways to develop trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. Nearly 50 traders from Afghanistan and Uzbekistan attended the meeting. The discussions focused on existing trade problems, cooperation opportunities, and ways to strengthen economic relations.

Sukhrob Abdurakhmanov, Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Sayed Karim Hashimi, Head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, participated in the meeting. The officials addressed key issues affecting bilateral trade flows.

Participants discussed increasing the efficiency of the Joint Trade Council of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. A proposal was raised to establish a trade warehouse and logistics center for Uzbek products in the Naimabad region of Afghanistan. This initiative aims to reduce costs and boost trade volume between the neighboring countries.

Both sides agreed to expand use of the electronic platform Yarmarka.uzex.uz. They also committed to continue cooperation for better economic relations and to remove obstacles hindering trade activities.

The meeting highlighted the role of private sector engagement in advancing economic partnerships. Attendees explored various avenues for mutual benefit in commerce and investment sectors. Further steps were outlined to implement the agreed measures effectively.
