Ukraine FM Says Only Trump Can End Russia War, Calls for Leaders' Meeting

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that only US President Donald Trump can stop the war between Ukraine and Russia, and that the leaders of the two countries must meet in person to resolve the most difficult remaining issues.
According to a Reuters report cited by Hasht-e Subh, Ukraine seeks to accelerate the four-year peace negotiation process and leverage opportunities from US-mediated talks. Sybiha noted that only a few sensitive items remain from the 20-point peace plan that formed the basis of recent tripartite negotiations, requiring resolution at the leaders' level.
Key disagreements persist: Russia demands Ukraine hand over the remaining 20% of eastern Donetsk region under its control, while Ukraine insists on regaining control of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Europe's largest, located in Russian-occupied territory.
The second round of tripartite talks in Abu Dhabi yielded no fundamental progress. However, Ukraine's president announced that the US proposed a new round of negotiations in Miami, which Ukraine has accepted.
