Iranian President Authorizes Foreign Minister for US Nuclear Talks Under Conditions

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated he has instructed Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to participate in nuclear negotiations with the United States, provided the talks occur without threats or unrealistic demands.
Pezeshkian said the proposal originated from US President Donald Trump and emphasized that any discussions would proceed only in a "suitable atmosphere" aligned with Iran's national interests. In a post on X, he wrote: "In response to requests from friendly governments in the region to address the US president’s proposal for negotiations, I have instructed the foreign minister, should conditions be appropriate and free of threats and unreasonable expectations, to facilitate fair and just talks based on dignity, wisdom and expediency."
Iranian officials have indicated that, following a relative easing of tensions with Washington, the framework for resuming nuclear negotiations is expected to clarify soon. Diplomatic proposals from regional countries aimed at reducing tensions with the United States are under review.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated on Monday that regional countries are actively mediating by exchanging messages between Tehran and Washington. "Several diplomatic tracks are under discussion, and we are reviewing and finalising the details of each stage, which we hope will reach a conclusion in the coming days," Baghaei said, without providing specifics.
Iran's Fars News Agency earlier cited an unidentified source as saying Tehran and Washington would resume talks on Iran's nuclear program.
